Elder-Blau Thanksgiving

'Twas a grand day at our home yesterday.  Grandma Neva, Mama, Adam and Mel, both of my sisters and their families joined us for Thanksgiving here.  MUCH food, but most importantly, much laughter, was shared by all.  Before we ate, Lona Sue gave the following prayer for grace.  I do not know where she found it.  Right now, many people's lives are turned upside down for a multitude of reasons.  Maybe this is a prayer we can use everyday instead of only on Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Prayer

"Oh, God, when I have food, help me to remember the hungry out there,

When I have work, allow me to remember those who are jobless;

When I have a home, remind me of the ones who have no home at all;

When I am in good health, may I remember the people who suffer;

As I live a pain-free life, might I be reminded of those whose bodies ache.

And in remembering, help me to destroy complacency and be concerned enough to help,
By word and deed,
Those who cry out for what we take for granted.."

Amen.
