Fire Weather Storm WARNING

The watch previously announced has now been changed to a warning which is more serious. This means that low humidity and dry fuels will result in the potential for explosive fire growth. Critical fire conditions are either occurring now or are immenent. This warning is for Logan, Wichita, Gove County and several counties between here and the southwestern border of Kansas. This warning is in effect from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m., CST today.

Wind and low relative humidity provide the conditions for fire weather. In today's case, the combination of gusty Southern winds to Southeastern winds, low humidity and dry fuels will result in this fire potential.
