Red Flag Warning

Today's forecasted temperatures range from 90 degrees in Northwest Kansas to 93 degrees in Southwest Kansas. For people like me, this is not the temperatures that we would prefer. Good news is that after today, the next 7 days should be great! Highs will be in the 60's and lower 80's.

In the meantime, a Red Flag Warning has been announced for most of Kansas. All of Western Kansas is included in this warning. It will be in effect through 8:00 p.m., CST tonight.

Winds are expected to be between 25 and 35 mph with gusts of 45 mph throughout the day. These winds coupled with the low 13% relative humidity provides the favorable conditions for rapid fire growth, therefore ALL outdoor burning should be avoided through early evening.

Be careful out there!
