Lesson Learned

A year ago, we decided that it was time to paint the exterior of our house. We went back and forth trying to decide what colors would be best. Eventually, we decided that we would paint with cream and cocoa colors. Now, you're probably thinking that we painted the body cream, right? Wrong! Our house was already cream-colored so we wanted to add some PIZAZZ to our home.

We definitely had pizazz! Our house really showed up in town!

At the time, we thought that we might have problems with the house absorbing too much heat but decided to do it anyway. Well, right now, 7:00 p.m., it is 93 degrees outside and a nice cool 90 degrees INSIDE!!! And before you ask, YES, we have central air conditioning, and YES, it has been running practically non-stop since about 8:30 this morning. Can you imagine our electric bill???!!! Yeppers, folks, we made a BIG mistake last summer...

Fortunately, most mistakes can be rectified. We are now going through the MANY paint chips that I have acquired through the years. We think that we are going to go with a nice light cream or maybe even white for the body. Then, we'll use a more pronounced color to paint the shutters, trim and to make a nice statement. Anyone out there wanna help??? LOL!!!
