Local (unknown) hero

Late this afternoon, Thursday, April 8th, someone spilled milk at Mel's Foodliner. Though the mess appeared to be cleaned up, fire and smoke soon sprang from wall electrical outlets. Come to find out, some of the milk had come into contact with the electrical wiring. Fortunately, an unknown fire fighter from Wichita County happened to be in the building at the time. Thanks to his fast thinking and efforts, the fire was extinguished soon after it had begun. Fortunately, no firetruck was needed to bring this fiery issue to a close. As soon as I know who the hero was, I will include his name on my blog.

Quite a few years ago, the same grocery store caught fire and was practically destroyed. Months later, the necessary renovation was completed and the doors were once again opened for business. We should all be very thankful that our one and only grocery store in town did not suffer major damage as it had before! Fortunately, when the building was going through its reno, Wichita Countians still had a second grocery store in town to pick up the slack.
