You may have noticed that I have not been updating my blog as I normally do. There have been various reasons for that I hope will be resolved soon. During this period of time, I did not mention my report on this Christmas program. I apologize for that!
The 5th and 6th grade band performed at the beginning of the program. We enjoyed their music. I was really impressed with the students' posture and ability to hold their instruments in the proper method, both, during the time that they were playing as well as when they were not playing in particular areas of the songs. Looks like Mr. Allen Brockmeier is teaching them well so that they will become the same outstanding bands that we have grown accustomed to in his high school classes!
The high school auditorium was packed with parents, grandparents, etc. Students from kindergarten through the 6th grade showed us their musical talent. Kindergartners are always so very cute to watch! They provided us with ample reasons for laughter! More importantly was the fact that even these little kids sang their words very clearly. It is always sad to see them walk off of the stage... It's nice to know that there will be a fresh crop of kindergartners for next year's Christmas program! LOL!!!
Next, came The Twelve Days of Christmas musical. The balance of the grade school students performed in it. Their production was just excellent! Again, their words were loud and clear. I mention this because I have attended other grade school programs throughout my 49 years that did not produce understandable lyrics. Those programs really lack a lot for the audiences in attendances. Again, Mrs. Jayme (Brown) Bishop has outdone herself!!!
Wichita County is so fortunate to have excellent music instructors to teach our children who love to make music even better!!!
