Vera Emma Miller--Leoti and Scott City

(July 9, 1923 - December 24, 2010)


Vera Emma Miller, age 87, passed away on December 24, 2010 at Scott County Hospital in Scott City, Kansas. Vera was born July 9, 1923 in Greeley County, Kansas the daughter of Dedrich G. and Ethel Letha Hurt Mitchell. She was a homemaker and a lifetime resident of western Kansas.

Vera was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Leoti, Kansas. In 1941 she married Raymond Melvin Miller in Greeley County, Kansas. He passed away on June 1, 1958 in Eugene, Oregon.

Vera surviving family includes- Two daughters and their husbands- Rilla & Melvin Giesick- Castle Rock, Colorado Ruth & James Bender- Wichita, Kansas Three sons and their wives- Larry & Nelda Miller- Klamath Falls, Oregon Jim & Donna Miller- Klamath Falls, Oregon Rick Miller- Leoti, Kansas One sister and her husband- Mary & Willie Pfeifer- Topeka, Kansas One nephew and his wife- Stanley & Delberta Pfeifer- Topeka, Kansas Nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one great grandson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Assembly of God Church, Leoti, Kansas with the Reverend Ralph W. Russo officiating.

Burial will be in Leoti Cemetery in Leoti, Kansas

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Leoti, Kansas.

Memorials may be given to the Assembly of God Church in care of the funeral home.
