Dale Davis--Garden City

Dale Edwin Davis
(April 1, 1928 to December 29th, 2010)

Dale Edwin Davis, age 82, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. He was born on April 1, 1928 in Sawyer, Kansas the son of Burl E. and Myrtle E. Ball Davis. A resident of Garden City since 1946 moving from Wichita, Kansas he had worked for the Garden City Police Department for several years retiring in 1980.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Garden City, Kansas. Dale was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a lifetime member of the Garden City VFW.

On January 1, 1953, he married Carolyn Holderness in Garden City, Kansas. She survives.

Other Survivors Include: One Son, Blaine (& Tammy) Davis of Garden City, Kansas; One Brother, John C. Davis of Wilmington, North Carolina; Two Sisters, Mildred Miller of Mulvane, Kansas and Mary Lou Wright of Kiowa, Kansas; One Grandson, Jasson (& Emily) Wagner of Wamego, Kansas, Three Granddaughters, Bree (& Jacob) Greer of Wichita, Kansas, Micah David (& Nate Hudson) of Colorado Springs, CO and Allie David of Wichita, Kansas and Four Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Terry Lee Davis & Lloyd Alan Davis.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with Rev. Scott Schurle presiding.

Friends may call from Noon-8:00pm Sunday @ the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.

Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery in Garden City, Kansas.

The family requests memorials be given to the Garden City Family YMCA in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home of Garden City, Kansas.
