If you are not living in Kansas today, you might want to thank your lucky stars! In the wee hours of the morning, winds picked up around our area. We have had great bursts of dust blowing past our house today. Fortunately, we also had some rain but I doubt if there was enough to measure. Other parts of Kansas have had an abundance of rain. The last that I knew, Dodge City and the surrounding area is under a flood warning for today.
Stan drives a truck for a large pork corporation. He has delivered feed in Eastern Finney County (Garden City). He has seen large roofs blown off of buildings and just rolled into large balls. Here in Leoti, large, BEAUTIFUL evergreen trees have been yanked out of the ground like they were nothing. Tree branches are being forced off of trees. In other words, this is one of those days that most of us never dream about...
