Tamale Pie (CROCKPOT)

Serves 8.

3/4 cup cornmeal

1 1/2 cups milk

1 egg, beaten

1 pound ground beef, browned and drained

1 envelope dry chili seasoning mix

1 16-ounce can diced tomatoes

1 16-ounce can whole kernel corn, draned

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

In a medium bowl, combine the cornmeal, milk and egg. Set aside.

In a large bowl, combine the cooked meat with the chili seasoning, tomatoes and corn. When well-blended, pour it into a greased crockpot. Pour the cornmeal mixture on top of the meat mixture. Cover.

Cook on HIGH for 1 hour and then on LOW for 3 hours. Just before serving, sprinkle with cheese. Allow the cheese to melt for a few minutes.
