Soda Bottle Bombs

My dear friend, J.J., sent this email to me. It is terrifying.

It seems that people are taking empty soda (pop) bottles and putting a little bit of water, a little bit of Drano (drain cleaner) and a small piece of aluminum (tin) foil into it. Very carefully, they place the cap onto the bottle and place it in other people's mailboxes, yards, street gutters, etc. All is fine until a non-suspecting homeowner, etc, sees it and picks it up so that they can throw it into the trash. But once that bottle's contents have been shaken just a little bit, a gas builds up. In less than 30 seconds--just a half of a minute, the bottle explodes.

People are losing their fingers, hands, feet, etc. Many are left with permanent eye and facial problems. The water that is left behind is extremely hot and causes horrible burns.

I realize that there are many email hoaxes out there that are intended to terrify people but are not true. This bomb has been researched and SNOPES tells us that these bombs are far too real.

See "SNOPES" below-- the video at SNOPES shows the Indiana State Police Bomb Squad detonating one -- it's truly horrifying!
