Bill L. Riggs--Scott City

(October 28, 1932 - March 29, 2011)

Bill L. Riggs, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at his home in Scott City, Kansas. He was born on October 28, 1932 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma, the son of Lee & Autha Mae Williams Riggs. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1951 moving from Mulberry, Arkansas, he was a farmer and a rancher.

He attended the First Christian Church in Scott City, Kansas and was a member of the VFW and Kansas Western Horseman’s Association. Bill was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict where he was a First Sergeant.

On November 24, 1955 he married Marjorie A. Heim in Ozark, Arkansas. She survives.

Survivors include his Wife - Marjorie A. Riggs of Scott City, Kansas, Four Daughters - Vicki Ejibe of Wichita, Kansas, Eleanor Jean Wiley of Fort Scott, Kansas, Lori Ann Copeland of Ford, Kansas, Monique Miller of Scott City, Kansas, Nine Grandchildren and Five Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, One Son – Billy Riggs, and One Grandson – Zachery Riggs.

Graveside Services will be held at the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2011 with Steve Payne presiding.

Memorials amy be given to the Kansas Western Horseman’s Association Scholarship Fund % Price & Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be at Price & Sons Funeral Home in Scott City from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Thursday.
