As a parent and as a person with severe health concerns, I would like to mention this. The Wichita County Schools have a health policy. Until your ill child has been fever-free for a minimum of 24 hours, you are to keep that child at home instead of sending him/her back to school too soon. No matter how well your child is feeling, they are still contagious as long as they have a fever. Personally, I am a fan of this policy! It was put into place for a very good reason!!!

Now, let me go just one little bit further. If your child (or you) have not been fever-free for that minimal 24 hours, KEEP HIM/HER (OR YOU) OUT OF THE PUBLIC AND AWAY FROM OTHERS!!!

For the past few months, many viruses, etc have been going around. It seems like all of us are getting sick. A lot of that would have been thwarted had people just stayed at home where they belonged when they were sick.

This might sound corny, but people like me cannot afford to get sick. A simple cold can become something much worse for us. We can literally die!
