If you are interested in being notified immediately of any Kansas school closings because of weather, etc., go to

Once there, you'll see a list of current school closings. Just above that list, is a one line sentence where you can click to start receiving these automatic notices. This service is F--R--E--E!

Now, I want to warn you about something. This list contains all Kansas schools, public and church schools. Instead of them being listed alphabetically by the county name, they are listed by the town's name. For example, if you want to receive this information for Wichita County USD 467, you won't find it there. Instead, look for Leoti. Click on that.

It is quite simple to sign up for this service. Then when your school (you can list up to 5) calls off school for whatever reason, you will be notified very quickly via your email address or your cellphone.
