Last weekend, I wrote that the girls and I were going to go up and down Devil's Dip several miles northwest of Leoti. (For those of you who have never lived in Leoti, Devil's Dip is a V-E-R-Y deep hill that you are unable to see the bottom until your vehicle has bottomed out on it! LOL!!! It is SOOOOOOO fun!
Devil's Dip is almost as popular to past and present Wichita Countians as the Dairy King's jiffy burgers and Charlie's Charlie Specials. And that is saying a lot!
I first went down the hill when I was just a little girl. Daddy took my sisters and I down it often. Back then, it was no big deal if you wore seatbelts or not. Even so, Daddy still made us sit down whenever we went there. What a hoot it was and still is to go up and down and up and down and up...
This was the first time that Leighlyn, Abigayle and Karla, a friend who is much more like a daughter than anything else to us, traveled the deep hill. We actually went up and down it a few times before our bladders convinced us that we couldn't do it again! LOL!!! Next time, we'll go to the bathroom BEFORE we head to the hill!
I seriously doubt that this will be the last time that we will go to the dip. Everyone had way too much fun to stop now.
