Barbequed Pork for Sandwiches (CROCKPOT)

This is a GREAT recipe for BBQ Pork!
1 pork roast--approximately 4 pounds--shoulder, butt, fresh picnic

large onion (sliced)

4-6 cloves of fresh garlic (sliced lengthwise)

Your favorite BBQ sauce

Brown both sides of the roast in a skillet with a small amount of oil in it. While doing this, peel and slice the onion. Place half of the slices in bottom of the crockpot. Tranfer the roast into the crockpot now. Add 1/2 cup of water. Add remainder of onion and garlic.

Cover and cook on LOW for 9-11 hours. Remove meat from the crockpot, place on platter and allow to cool enough that you can safely handle it. Discard the onions and juices left in the pot. Tear or shred the meat into small pieces with forks. Return meat to crockpot. Add your barbequed sauce that you like the most and continue to cook for another 1 1/2 to 3 hours or until the flavors have mingled well. Serve the shredded pork on hamburger buns. Have such condiments as ketchup, mustard, pickle slices, onions slices available for your guests to add if they want to. Serves 8-10 people. VLE-B
