Buttery-Garlic Mashed Potatoes (CROCKPOT)

If you like butter and garlic, you're going to LOVE this side dish!!!

Spray your crockpot with PAM. Set it on LOW or HIGH, whichever you prefer for this. It will take 7 hours to thoroughly cook if you turn the dial to LOW. If you don't have that kind of time, turn the dial to HIGH! It will only take 4 hours on that setting!

2 pounds baking or regular potatoes

1/4 cup hot water

2 tablespoons butter; cut into 1/8" pieces

1 1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 to 1 cup milk

You can either leave your potatoes' skins on them or peel them. It is whatever you prefer. Wash them well and cut into 1/2" cubes. Place them and all of the other ingredients EXCEPT MILK in your prepared crockpot. Toss the ingredients with your hands to mix them well. Turn the heat dial onto whichever setting you have chosen and cover with the lid. Once your potatoes are tender, add the milk, a little at a time until the proper consistency has been acheived.

Now, use a potato masher or an electric hand mixer to beat these until they are smooth. Top them with a few slices of butter and serve if you are going to leave them in the crockpot OR move them to a serving bowl and THEN place the slices of butter on top.
