This week, November 21st through the 27th, is National Special Education Week. During this week, people who support and love children with conditions that classify them as having "special needs" are asking other people to join them in making this a better world for those kids (and adults) who live with physical, mental, emotional conditions every day of their lives. They didn't ask to be born with any problems but they are doing their best to overcome their hardships that their conditions have prompted.
It is up to both, you and me, to do our fair share in making this a better world for them. If you have children who still live at home, urge them to accept any of these people for whom they are. They need to look for the positives that each of these people possess. Parents, clergy members, teachers... need to give their all to help promote happiness for these individuals. Also, make sure that your kids realize that the so-called "handicapped" person is NOT sick. Whatever their problem(s) is/are, they are not contagious to the people around them.
Set forth a great example! The people whom love and respect you, will follow suit!
Thank you!!!
