Barbequed Meatballs

This is my family's favorite meat dish! Bake these in a pan that you can freeze them in if you want to make them ahead and pull out later to just heat and serve. They'd be great to have available during times when your family and friends will be staying with you for a few days.

3 pounds of hamburger
13 ounces of milk
2 cups quick oatmeal (uncooked)
2 eggs
1 chopped onion
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons chili powder
2 teaspoons salt

Sauce ingredients:
2 cups ketchup
2 cups brown sugar
2 tablespoons of liquid smoke (found in the ketchup department)Optional
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup chopped onion

Mix all meatball ingredients together. Roll into balls about the size of a large walnut. Place in greased 9" x 13" casserole dish OR in a greased roasting pan.

Stir up your sauce ingredients. Pour over the meatballs.

Bake for one hour in a 350 degree oven.

This sauce is a great one for pork also.

We serve this with homemade cheesey or mashed potatoes, vegetables and homemade dinner rolls (I posted that recipe a few days ago).

Enjoy! So far we have never prepared these for anyone who did not love them!!!
