Egg Recall in 8 States Including Kansas

Salmonella has been found in 288,000 eggs that were sold from the Ohio Fresh Eggs that Cal-Maine have now recalled. No one has been ill as a result of this at this time.

The company names that are at risk are Sunny Meadow, Springfield Grocer, Sun Valley and James Farm. If you have any of these egg cartons right now, check out the following information:

Plant number: 1457.
Julian date of 282 or 284.

You will find these numbers on the egg cartons.

I know that Sun Valley Eggs are sold in our area. We've purchased them before.

It is vitally important that we check our eggs to make sure that they are clean and unbroken. If they are not, leave them at the grocery store. The sign to look for that signals that the eggs are getting too old is that the shells will dry out.

If you have eggs from the above companies that have the recalled Plant and Julian numbers, return them to the store where you purchased them right away.
