Evelyn M. Whitson, age 94, passed away on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on December 20, 1915 in Land County, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence and Susan Jane Crowl. A resident of Scott City, Kansas since 1920 moving from Lane County, Kansas, she was a homemaker.
Her memberships include the First Christian Church of Scott City.
In 1937 she married Virgil L. Whitson. He passed away in 1981 in Big Spring, Texas.
Survivors Include her Three Sons - Ronald E. Whitson of Long Beach, California, Roger D. Whitson of Long Beach, Washinton, Richard A. Whitson of Knoxville, Tennessee, One Sister - Marilyn Gowey of Roseburg, Oregon, Two Brothers - Jim Crowl of Portland, Oregon, Bob Crowl of Corpus Christi, Texas, Ten Grandchildren and Fourteen Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Five Brothers and Sisters.
Graveside Services will be held at the Scott County Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2010 with Garee Geist presiding.
Interment will be in the Scott County Cemetery in Scott City, Kansas.
Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church % Price & Sons Funeral Home.
