Nellie P. McDonald--Garden City

Nellie P. McDonald, age 99, died Tuesday, November 16, 2010 at the Garden Valley Retirement Village in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on October 6, 1911 in Larned, Kansas the daughter of William and Lillie Dawson Warner. She had been a resident of Garden City since 1990 moving from Mullinville, Kansas. She worked in the Ford County government office and then as a secretary for Bucklin School District 459 for 16 years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Garden City, Kansas.

On June 28, 1936 she married Archie A. Lockman in Ford, Kansas. He died in 1963. Then on October 12, 1969 she married Glen E. McDonald in Overland Park, Kansas. He died in September of 1987.

Survivors Include: Two Sons, Galen McDonald of Mullinville, Kansas and Dee McDonald of Mullinville, Kansas; Three Daughters, Deanna Francis of Redmond, Washington, Carolyn Salyer of Garden City, Kansas and Cheryl Zimmerman of Benton, Kansas; Fourteen Grandchildren and Sixteen Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Price & Sons Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas.

There will be no public calling times.

Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City, Kansas.

The family requests memorials be given to the Emmaus House in care of Price & Sons Funeral Home.
