Mel's Foodliner in Leoti

Once you go in to Mel's on Tuesday morning, you will no longer see "regular" cash registers in the grocery store. Instead, price scanners will be taking their places.

Store clerks can hardly wait! Scanning is proven to allow the customer to be checked out much quicker and more efficiently than the previous method. No longer should store clerks and customers have to wait as other employees go around the store making price checks of items that are brought to the front of the store with no price tag or stamp on them. Customers and clerks will no longer have to be extra careful to make sure that items' sale prices are reflected in the amount of money being punched in to the cash register.

Store management and owners of businesses that use scanners don't have to spend as much money on employees having to price each individual item before placing them on shelves for sale. Many hours are saved by this modern method.

I wuld ask that we all remember that the employees of Mel's may be a bit slower on this as they first begin using it. Once they are more confident with their work, speed will build.
