The Votes are In

Stan and I can honestly say that we did what we should have in order to help get our country back where she belongs today--we voted. We were not alone. At 5:30, my ballot went into the auto vote reader. I was voter number 645 in Wichita County. When we were leaving the Community Building, people were standing in line to fill out their ballots and more people were coming in to the building. The polls were closed at 7:00.

I talked to volunteers who have been doing their services for the Wichita County voters for several years. I asked them what they thought of the numbers of voters showing up to cast their votes. They all told me that more voters showed up today than normal for an election that was not set aside for the office of the U.S. president. In other words, it would have been totally normal for way less voters to come out today. Many voters in Wichita County did just as election predictors predicted would happen nationwide--they made sure that they got out and voted for the people whom they believe can turn our country around. I have not yet heard who won in this election but I am in hopes that only the honest and true people who are really out to look out for the good of the American people won.

In Wichita County, the majority of all voting is done by individuals filling in the ovals next to the candidates names whom they want to take office. In the past few years, Wichita County received a vote machine such as what cities offer to their citizens. At 5:30 tonight, only one person had actually used the machine. Everyone else took the time to do their voting the "manual" way.

Throughout the day, reports began filling the airwaves of more vote dishonesty. It seems that some of the people who used the vote machines checked to see that their votes were counted correctly. A good number of voters were outraged when they discovered that though they had voted straight Republican tickets, the machine claimed that they had actually voted in favor of Democrats. This is not the first time that reports such as this have surfaced. I sincerely hope that the people who are behind these fraudulent acts are sought out and prosecuted to the full extent of the law!

In the state of Kansas, we were asked our opinion on whether or not the mentaly ill should be allowed to vote. On a personal note, I was thoroughly disgusted with this question. A very large portion of the American people are diagnosed as being mentally ill. And there are many others out there who have not yet been diagnosed. I took offense to this matter. I am not ashamed to tell you that I have a mental disorder--Bi-Polar Disorder. I take my medications and try to do what my doctors tell me to do to stay on a level basis. I see NO reason why I nor other mental health patients should not be allowed to vote. The way that I looked at this was that we were being set aside and persecuted for our weaknesses. Bi Polar Disorder, Schizophrenia, etc are simply illnesses that we were born with.

We were also asked whether or not we should continue to have the RIGHT to bear arms. Oh, my God!!! How many people gave their lives so that we could have firearms to protect our families and our property??? Now, there are people out there who think that that right needs to be revoked???????

It will be interesting to see if a major shift in power takes place as has been predicted for quite some time. Forecastors believed that the Republicans would take the majority in the House of Representatives. They were not quite so confident that that would happen in the Senate. Time will tell. I honestly believe that if something does not change SOON, our country is on it's way straight to h***. Scary, don't ya' think???

It will be refreshing not to have to watch any candidate commercials on TV tomorrow. I just hope that the proper people will remain in or take office this time.

Of course, if you take time to read my blog, you are subjected to my many opinions! LOL!!!

  1. I think you like to do research Lynn, so I think you should do some on the question about the right to bear arms. Not sure but I think Kansas is just trying to change a law from years back to read more like the 2nd amendment reads, look forward to seeing what is up with this.

  2. WHAT? There is a voting machine? Where was it? Please tell me. Maybe no one used it because they weren't told about it. I went in and was given my ballot and directed to the booths, as usual. If there is a voting machine, it should be pointed out to the voters. I don't get it.

  3. Still wondering about the voting machine. Is it there at the community building for everyone to go to? As I said, no one directed me to it.

  4. I saw a piece of equipment just to the right of the indoor doorway. I just scanned it with my eyes. I paid absolutely no other attention to it. (At the time, I had my mouth engaged and my brain disengaged.) Pretty normal for me! LOL!!! I will be working at the courthouse again this afternoon. I will see if that is what I saw. I will post whatever I find out in a new post. Thank you!!! VLE-B
