Strawberry Cake

This makes a nice red cake that is just perfect for Thanksgiving, Christmas or whenever.

1 box white cake mix

1 lage box strawberry gelatin

3 tablespoons of flour

1 cup vegetable oil

1/2 cup water

4 eggs

1/2 cup fresh OR frozen sliced strawberries

Mix together the cake mix, flour and gelatin. Add oil, water and eggs; beat well. Add the sliced strawberries, again beat well. Pour into a greased and floured 8 inch round cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-45 minutes. You'll know that it is dne when a toothpick that you have placed in the center, comes out clean.

Frosting

1 pound box powdered sugar

1/2 cup butter or margarine

3 tablespoons sliced strawberries with juice

1 teaspoon vanilla

Fresh strawberries cut in halves for garnish

Slowly add the powdered sugar into the butter. Mix well. Add the strawberries and vanilla. Stir until completely mixed. Frost this on the cake after the cake is cooled off.

Place the halved strawberries on the top of the cake.
