It is predicted that this Thanksgiving and Christmas will be the most difficult for families across the United States since the Great Depression years. Because of that, many people are going to be forced to depend on the kindness of others to get them through this special time of the year. I suggest that you contact your own church or local ministerial alliance to see what you can donate to help.
In Scott County, their Ministerial Alliance Breadbasket is asking for the following donations:
Vegetable shortening such as Crisco
Flour
sugar
baking powder
yeast
corn meal, etc
Canned items that will be needed are:
canned or instant soup
canned vegetables
pork and beans
canned fruit
canned or frozen juices
canned meat and fish
body soap
shampoo
deodorant
toothpaste, etc
dish detergent
laundry detergent
Ajax or Comet
all-purpose cleaners, etc.
toilet paper
paper towels
diapers
sanitary feminine hygiene products such as pads and tampons
dried beans
hot or cold cereals
baby food
peanut butter
powdered or canned nonfat milk
jellp and pudding cups
complete pancake mixes that do not require eggs
complete biscuit mixes
complete muffin mixes
macaroni and cheese
noodles and spaghetti
spaghetti sauce
ketchup, sauces, etc
minute or regular rice
instant potatoes
crackers
Please take the items of your choice and/or money to 511 South Main in Scott City. If you prefer, call 620-872-7012.
Thank you!!!
